As we step into April, I know that many of us are navigating complex conversations around diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). With growing pushback in society and in some workplaces, it can feel isolating at times to stay the course. That’s why I’m proud to share that CCDI has released a new public DEIA commitment statement—a clear affirmation of our values, and a resource to help you ground your work in knowledge, determination, and purpose. I invite you to take a moment to read it, reflect on it, and consider how you can apply it in your daily life. Read the statement.
Later this month, we’ll release our next podcast episode of the Inclusion Table Talks series, featuring Jake Stika, Co-founder and Executive Director of Next Gen Men. Together, we’ll explore toxic masculinity, transformative approaches to gender equity, and how to support men in meaningful, lasting ways. We’ll also address the current regression of women’s rights, and what these shifts mean for inclusive progress. It’s a conversation I’m truly looking forward to—Jake brings bold, nuanced insight to a topic that is often misunderstood, and I believe this episode will challenge and inspire many of us.
And on April 18, I’ll be speaking at the TEC National Conference in Toronto, where I’ll host a session on the Future of Work through the lens of DEIA. I’m looking forward to sharing CCDI’s thought leadership on how we shape inclusive, forward-thinking workplaces. Learn more.
Thank you for continuing to walk this path with us. Let’s continue advancing this work—together.
With gratitude, Anne-Marie Pham CEO, CCDI
Opposition to DEIA may be growing louder—but so is our determination to lead with purpose. CCDI’s national DEIA commitment statement calls for renewed clarity, courage, and action to build a Canada rooted in equity, belonging, and opportunity for all.
The statement urges individuals and organizations across sectors to move beyond performative efforts and take meaningful action—positioning DEIA as a legal responsibility, a business advantage, and a shared societal obligation.
In this blog commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Rochele Padiachy, Manager and Team Lead of Learning and Knowledge Solutions, reflects on her childhood introduction to racism. She discusses the call to action this international day presents, urging us to examine the systems that uphold inequities, and the ongoing efforts required to ensure that no child ever has to face their difference in a world divided by hate.
